Lesson 2: Title: Locating and Using Tools

​The tools to change a flat tire include a jack, lugnut wrench, and spare tire.


The process of replacing a flat tire requires knowledge of how to the right tools for the process.

As a motorist, you must be able to identify the tools to use when changing a tire. The process must be followed to ensure every part of the system involved in the operation of a vehicle is functioning well.

The process start with jacking up the vehicle and loosening of the lug nuts.

​When loosening the lug nuts, do so while the flat tire is still fastened to the vehicle and on the ground. Once they are loose, use your jack to raise the car. When the tire is well suspended, loosen all the lug nuts. Replace the flat tire with the spare tire when all the nuts are removed. While the car is still raised, and if there is enough space to insert the spare tire, go ahead and slide it and begin tightening the lug nuts. When tighten the top nut first, go to the one across and tighten it. Tighten them in that order until they are safely tightened. Ultimately, take the damage to a mechanic to see if it can be replaced or repaired.
