The Four Dimensions of Engagement

Behavioral: Students follow instructions, are prepared for class, participate, attend, and work with intentionality.

Social: Students collaborate to learn to build positive peer relationships and have empathy.

Emotional: Students have a sense of belonging, feel connected to their teacher, and are open to learning. Students show interest and enjoyment.

Cognitive: Students are engaged and willing to invest in their work. Students self-regulate.
