The atmosphere gets less and less dense the farther away from Earth’s
surface it gets. The earth’s gravitational pull has less and less pull on it and
the particles are held less tightly to the earth.

Fronts
•The boundary between
two air masses.
•Fronts are classified by
which type of air mass
(cold or warm) is moving
in & replacing the other.
•Map symbols point in the
direction a front is
moving.

Because warm air is less dense and there is more space
between the air molecules, it can hold more water vapor
(moisture) than cold air. Cold air masses try to “squeeze” the
moisture out, like a sponge.

What are Jet Streams ?

Jet Streams---yet another totally awesome
feature about Earth’s surface fluids (air, in particular).
Fast moving streams of air that run like rivers in the
top of the troposphere!

Cycle
(a.k.a. - the Water Cycle)
