1. Write a title above the drawing.

2. If the specimen was viewed using a microscope, write the total magnification below the drawing.

3. Print or type the labels horizontally.

4. Draw straight label lines using a ruler or line tool.

5. Labels should not cross one another, and they should end inside of the structure they label.

We will be drawing a brine shrimp not their eggs, but the procedure is the same.
Use a pipette to place 1 or 2 drops of bottled water in the transparent square on a blank slide.

1. Pipette a few brine shrimp onto the drop of water.

2. Hold a cover slip at an angle to the slide.

3. Lower the cover slip so that one side touches the drop of water. Then, slowly lower the rest of the cover slip onto the water's surface.

4. Observe the slide under the microscope as you would a prepared slide.
