• To create these descriptions, authors may use figurative language.

• Figurative language is using comparisons or exaggerations rather than the literal meaning of words to convey an idea

• Read the pages for today from your Reading Schedule on page 90 of your ELA Notebook

• While you read, make sure you are annotating either in your book or on the notes pages in your ELA Notebook
