Some decimals are terminating decimals because the decimals come to an end.
Other decimals are repeating decimals because one or more digits repeat forever.

STEPS
Assign a variable to represent the repeating decimal.
write an equation:varibable=decimal
multiply each side of the equation by 10d, where d is the number of repeating digits in the repearing decimal
subtract equivalent expressions of the variable and the repeating decimal from each side of the equatio
solve for the variable. write an equivalent fraction so that the numerator and denominator are integers, if necessary
