​A solid is any object that keeps its own shape instead of taking the shape of its container.

Toys, books, and clothes are all examples of solid objects.

A liquid has a definite volume but not a definite shape.

If you put water in a glass, the water takes the shape of the glass. If you pour the same water into a bowl, it will take the shape of the bowl.

Gas is made of atoms and molecules that move faster and further, enabling it to fill a container evenly.

One type of gas is helium, which is used to fill balloons. When the helium is put into the balloon, it evenly fills the balloon. If the balloon pops, the helium will disperse to evenly fill the room.
