What is an electron?

Electrons are negatively charged particles of atoms.

Atoms are extremely tiny building blocks of all matter.
They make up everything in the universe.

Electrons create electricity

Electrons have a negative charge, but they like to move to new atoms that have a positive charge.

When an electron jumps to a new atom, it creates an electric charge. This is electricity!

Circuit

People have discovered how to control the flow of electricity using circuits so that they can power many different devices.

A circuit is a path that allows electricity to flow. When a circuit is complete, we can use the energy.
