3.1.1 Reading Skills

• Reading Skills are strategies that you can use while you are reading to better understand the content you are reading

• We are going to watch a short BrainPOP video about reading skills and then play Kahoot! to review what we learned in the video

Reading Skills

• For Unit 3, you will be completing independent literature circles

• You will choose a book, read it, and discuss it throughout the unit

• When you read on your own, you will need to use some of the reading skills that we discussed in class today

• We will begin discussing Lit Circles and how they will work over the next few days!

Literature Circles

• Over the next few days, you will need to choose which book you would like to read for Unit 3

• The choice is yours, but choose carefully!

• It might not be a bad idea to look at your options and narrowing down your choices

• Take a few minutes to look at your books and see what they are about!

• You are not choosing today, just starting to see what interests you!
