تعريف النون الساكنة :
هي التي لا حركة لها، وتثبت لفظا وخطا وصلا و وقفا
- وتكون في الأسماء والأفعال والحروف. مثال
(من) -(منهم)-
تعريف التنوين:
نون ساكنة زائدة تلحق آخر الأسماء وتظهر في النطق ولا تكتب وتثبت في الوصل دون الوقف.
- علامة التنوين :
فتحتان أو ضمتان على الحرف أو كسرتان تحته.
مثال:
(غفورٌ) (شاكراً) (يؤمئذٍ)

اصطلاحا:
إخراج كل حرف من مخرجه من غير غنة ولا وقف ولا سكت ولا تشديد في الحرف المظهر.
