Final Lessons
Over the final lessons of your Music 7 course, you will be composing your own ballad with poetic lyrics. The poetic lyrics will connect to a personal story you have.
Remember that compose means to write music down.

Ballad Review
In Unit 2 we learned that a ballad: is a song that tells a story.
It is not based on a strict musical pattern but rather on the theme of the story that the words tell.
Often not just songs but also forms of poetry!
Excerpt from a poetic ballad:
Recording in Edio.
The other day, I met a bear,
A great big bear away out there . . .
And so I ran away from there,
But right behind me was that bear.
Ahead of me, there was a tree,
A great big tree, O glory be . . . ”
Carey Morgan and Lee David

Follow me in edio as we will be working step by step to complete today's part of the assessment.
Everyone must complete and submit. Even if you attended guided instruction, no one is to turn in blank.
Turn to page 4 in edio and listen and follow along with the example.

Now that we have gone through the directions you are free to begin working on your own. I will remain in the Zoom room and help anyone with any of their needs.
If you have a question after class, either edio chat, call, or email me! I am always happy to help.
You are also encouraged to attend this week's help session!
