What is density?

​Density is the amount of matter in a volume

Matter is the amount of mass. How much "stuff" is there. If there are 20 students in this room, the "matter" is then 20.
Volume is the give SPACE that contains the matter.
If there are 20 students in my room, the volume is the ROOM.

The amount of SPACE something takes up.
Measures in either cm^3 or mL.

The amount of MATTER in an object.
Measured USUALLY in grams or kilograms

​Mass

Density is mass divided by volume.

​To find ANYTHING, simply cover UP what you want to find, and do the math!!

​So how do we calculate density?

An eraser has a mass of 10 grams in a volume of 20 cm^3. What is it's density?
