DRAWING

Technical drawings include blueprints, schematics and diagrams that
communicate how to construct a product, device, machine, highway or home. They also
include sketches and 2D- and 3D-models that represent the appearance of a completed
project.
Technical drawing is also known as drafting. A drawing or a plan that is used to
communicate directions an specifics to a group of people. Making short animation serves
as a tool and a medium for explaining an idea and creating engaging explanations. By
understanding the when, why and how of making a short animation, different symbols and
diagrams are used.
SYMBOLS provide a visual representation of a diagram. Symbols used in technical
drawings are essential in animation because they help convey an idea and to
communicate each and every piece of information necessary in creating a design and in
the whole process of production.
3
People who communicate with technical drawings, may use
technical standards that define practical symbols, perspectives, units
of measurement, notation systems, visual styles, or layout standards.
These enable a drafter to communicate more concisely by using
a commonly understood principle. Together, such principles create a
visual language, and help to ensure that the drawing is clear and
relatively easy to understand. In creating a short animation movie,
animator’s mapping his or her project is a great way to showcase
how he or she thinks, organizes thoughts and plans. The element of
technical drawing will help each animator to define the scope of the
project and the specifics of the production.

Lesson 4:
DESIGN AND DEVELOPING
USING FLOWCHART
12
Understanding Flowchart
A flowchart is simply a graphical representation of steps. It shows steps in
sequential order and is widely used in presenting the flow of algorithms,
workflow or processes. Typically, a flowchart shows the steps as boxes of
various kinds, and their order by connecting them with arrows.
A flowchart is a graphical representations of steps. It was originated from
computer science as a tool for representing algorithms and programming
logic but had extended to use in all other kinds of processes. Nowadays,
flowcharts play an extremely important role in displaying information and
assisting reasoning. They help us visualize complex processes, or make explicit
the structure of problems and tasks. A flowchart can also be used to define a
process or project to be implemented.
13
USES OF FLOWCHART
1. To develop understanding of how a
process is done.
2. To study a process for improvement
3. To communicate to others how a process
is done
4. To establish better communication
between people involved with the same
process.
5. To document a process.
6. To visualize when planning a project.

THE PROCESS OF ANIMATION
FLOWCHART
A good flow chart helps to ease the process of understanding the
whole procedure. If a flowchart is not created properly, it may
lead into confusion.
Although there are many elements that can be used in a
flowchart
to
represent different kinds
of
steps,
an effective
flowchart can be created by just using few elements such as
process, decision, start, delay, and cloud.
