What are class roles?

Student Led Classrooms

Classroom roles give you, the student, the ability to take control of the classroom. Student leaders make sure that the class is student centered by facilitating learning on a peer-to-peer basis.

The teacher then can target specific topics with a more targeted approach.

• takes initiative in being helpful

What they do

Classroom Manager

Attendance Monitor

The attendance monitor helps the teacher take attendance. You must hold each other accountable for tardies and absences. The attendance monitor must be someone who is mostly present and on time to class.
Attendance is entered by the teacher BUT the attendance monitor is in charge of monitoring who is absent/tardy.

• Listens to instructions from teacher

• Helps classmates with questions about assignments

• Helps student upload/post/complete tasks

​Homework Supervisor

• Keeps track of restroom passes - 1 person at a time

• Helps class manager when needed

• Collects classroom roles badges and other materials

Communications Officer

The communications officer basically announces important details to the class. These could include a 5 minute warning, due dates, school events, and can also help the class manager, etc.

Examples:
-Juanito announces to the class there is 5 minutes left
-Juanon announces to the class that on Friday there will be a test
-Juana announces to the class that Friday there is a pep rally!
