Definition

• An adverb is a word that adds more information to a verb (an action word), an adjective (a describing word), or another adverb.

• Many adverbs end in "-ly," like "happily," "quickly," and "quietly," but not all adverbs do.

  • Example: She sings beautifully. (How does she sing? Beautifully.)

• Adverbs of Time - Tell us when something happens.

  • Example: He arrived yesterday. (When did he arrive? Yesterday.)
