Indirect questions
We use indirect questions when we want to ask a question in a more polite way. We begin with a phrase such as Can/Could you tell me...? Do you think....? Do you know if.....? Would you mind telling me...?
Can you tell me where he is? Do you know where they live? Could you tell me where she is going? Could you tell me what time the store opens?
Do you know if (wether) Mark's coming to the meeting?
