The gates rattled as I stepped out of my house. My keys clattered as I locked the door and gates. I trudged to the lift and tapped my foot impatiently while waiting for the lift to arrive. The lift arrived and I entered it. “Ding!” the lift finally reached the ground level and I dragged my feet across the familiar gravel path to the bus stop.
The morning air was cool and refreshing. Crickets were creaking, as if they were greeting me. The leaves and branches of trees were swaying gently in the breeze as if they were waving goodbye to me. Despite the refreshing air, I was not in a good mood.

In the 21st century, the term “internet” is definitely not an unfamiliar term in most developed and even developing countries. In this essay, I will be discussing how the internet is beneficial in terms of allowing us to connect easily and quickly with our loved ones as well as strangers. I will then talk about some of the disadvantages, such as creating a space for online scams and the ironic characteristic of the internet that could possibly cause us to lose connection with our loved ones.
With applications and software like “Skype” and “Whatsapp”, people are able to connect with their friends and family with just the click of a button. One will be able to send an instant message or even engage in lengthy video calls. This is especially important in today’s global world. For example, many students nowadays leave their families to travel abroad to study, and the internet allows them to connect with their families easily and quickly, as well as on a frequent basis. Thus, the internet has helped us to secure and build relationships with our loved ones.
However, it must be said that the internet also has various disadvantages.......

“One man’s meat is another man’s poison”. Everyone’s idea of what beauty is can differ greatly from one another. Many disputes have risen as people argued about what beauty actually is: whether it is the physical looks, the character of a person, or both. Therefore, we always say that “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. Beauty to me lies in the internal meaning and the appreciation I have towards something or someone and your views may be very different from mine
On the first look, my Godmother is nothing but an average Joe. She is rather plump, but has the cutest rosy cheeks like Snow White and long, permed hair. She does not have the best fashion sense and sometimes her love for patterned clothes makes her look like a complete chaos. However, she is a go-getter, energetic and bright as the sun, which is what I really like about her as nothing is able to put her down. She is my best friend, fun to be with, regardless of whether we are at a theme park or just going for a simple morning jog. She is also easy to confide in – during those times when I faced setbacks, she was like a mentor, full of maturity and experiences, guiding me and giving me advice with a down-to-earth spirit. I truly appreciate what she has done for me, and hence to me, she is indeed a beautiful and amazing woman.
