Example 1:

​Formula = (LD x SD) ÷ 2

Area = (7 x 8) ÷ 2
Area = 56 ÷ 2
Area = 28cm²

Example 2:

​Formula = (LD x SD)÷ 2

Area = (72 x 89) ÷ 2
Area = 6336 ÷ 2
Area = 3168m²

A rhombus is a kite but also a Parallelogram, so we can use either of those formula's based on the information given.

Step 1: What information was given - diagonals or Base and height?
Step 2: Choose the correct formulas

​Formula = B x H

​Info - Base and Height

​Formula = (LD x SD)÷2

​Info - Diagonals

Area of the Rhombus

Example 1:

​Formula = (LD x SD)÷2

Area = (LD x SD)÷2
Area = 480 ÷ 2
Area = 240cm²

Example 2:

​Formula = B x H

Area = 9 x 7
Area = 63cm²
