You MUST show your work on your scratch paper (you can take notes on there too). Use your DESMOS calculator. I am taking this as a grade :).
2
Multiply 5 times x
Multiply 5 times 6
We multiply the outside number by all terms on the inside of the parentheses.
3
Fill in the Blanks
Which is equivalent to 5(a + 6)?
4
Fill in the Blanks
Use your notes to write this equation in another form...
9(x+1)

6
Substitute the value into the inequality and simplify. If the result is a true inequality, it is a solution. If the result is not true, it is not a solution.

You can use a table or chart for proportion problems. It is helpful to highlight the different types of numbers with different colors. As, you can see on the right, there are many different correct ways to set up a table or chart. This is just four correct ways of setting it up.
13
Here are the same 4 examples written as proportions instead of in a table.
14
First...
The same types of numbers should be together. In our examples all of the numbers for miles are green and all of the numbers for hours are orange. You can see that the green numbers are always beside each other or above/below each other. The orange numbers are always together too
15
You need to make sure that the numbers that are in the same sentence are together. In our example it says Harry walked 20 miles in 5 hours. So, 20 and 5 should be beside each other or above/below each other.
16
Multiple Choice
Which proportion is NOT set up correctly
17
Multiple Choice
Which proportion is NOT set up correctly?
18
Multiple Choice
Choose the correct proportion for the following problem:
Shania uses 12 sheets of
paper for every pencil. If she uses 3 pencils, how many sheets of paper will she use?
19
Fill in the Blanks
The ratio of a quarterback's completed passes to attempted passes is 7 to 8. If he attempted 24 passes, how many did he complete?
20
Fill in the Blanks
It takes Emma 18 minutes to type and spell check 14 pages of manuscript. How long will it take her to type and spell check 77 pages?
21

What's the value of M?
22
Rectangles: L x W
Parallelograms: B x H

40
Math Response
The table shows the number of song downloads a group of friends made on Saturday.
Find the interquartile range of the number of song downloads.
41
Mean is the average, so add up all the numbers then divide
Mean is typically the best measure of center **unless there is an outlier**
EX: {2, 3, 8, 9, 9} = 2 + 3 + 8 + 9 + 9 = 31 ÷ 5 = 6.2
42
43
When There's An Outlier
If there is NO outlier, the best measure of center to use is the mean
EX: 12, 11, 8, 6, 11, 7, 10 = mean
If there is an outlier, the best measure of center to use is the median
EX: 12, 11, 8, 6, 11, 30, 10 = median
44
Multiple Choice
What is the best measure of center?

1. You must divide the numerator by the denominator
2. Do this until you find the remainder *
3. You will not go into decimals
*The remainder is a number that is smaller than the number you are dividing by.
50
Multiple Choice
If you want to change 22/5 to a mixed number, what is the first step?
divide 22 by 5
multiply 22 by 5

Volume is the amount of space a 3D object occupies
Area is measured in unit squares (square units), volume is measured in unit cubes (cubic units)
Figures are packed with unit cubes even if they aren't all visible
Volume can be found by finding the area of the base (B) and multiplying it by the height (h) of the object
V = Bh (B = bh) or Length x Width x Height (l x w x h)
60
Multiple Choice
If a rectangular prism has a base that is 5 inches by 6 inches and height of 13 inches, what is the volume?

30 is what percent of 150?
The percent goes over 100,
The 30 is the part of the number,
The big number is 150

Step 2: Cross Multiply
Step 3: Divided to get the variable by itself
[Remember what you do to one side of an equation you MUST do to the other]
