Good Discussions have thoughtful posts and thoughtful responses.

But what does that look like?

Sentence Stem: “I agree with what you said about________________. I think that _______________ and I also think that _____________.”

"I think In-N-Out Burger is the best fast food restaurant because they have delicious burgers and great prices."
Possible response:
I agree with you. In-N-Out is one of my favorite fast food restaurants too! I love the food and the prices as well. I also think that they are good because their menu is small so they can get really good at what they do. They don't offer a ton of other stuff like most of the other fast food places.

“I thought your ideas were __________and I am wondering/curious about/ would like to ask if you think __________? Or, do you think __________ is__________?”

"I think In-N-Out Burger is the best fast food restaurant because they have delicious food at great prices. "

Possible response:

I think your opinion on In-N-Out burger is really good and I agree the food is delicious and at a great price but I am wondering if you think other places with a wider variety of food are a better choice? After all, In-N-Out only makes two kinds of burgers. I think people like to have more choices. Or do you think less variety is part of what makes them good?

“I read your comment and I respectfully disagree with your thoughts about/on/regarding _____________ because_____________. I think  _____________  because/due to the fact/in my experience ___________.”

"I think In-N-Out Burger is the best fast food restaurant because they have delicious food at great prices. "

Possible response:

I think In-N-Out is an ok fast food restaurant but I respectfully disagree that it's the best one. I think Rubio's is the best fast food restaurant because they offer healthy choices and eating fish is better for the environment. I also think fish tacos represent San Diego's culture better.
