Questions have three words that are alike in some way.
The answer is the word which is like the other three words.

Verbal Classification

What is the rule?

A good strategy would be to start by phrasing a sentence that fits the words, such as
'All of the words are/can _______ '.

How to choose the answer?

Next, go through the answer choices and find the word that fits the sentence.
'All of the words are/can _______ '.
Only one answer choice should fit the rule. If more than one answer choice fits the rule look for a more accurate, narrower rule.

For example, if you have chocolate, candy, and marshmallow, and the answer choices include both bread and marmalade, the term 'food items' is too broad to determine the correct answer; 'sweets' would be more precise.

Too difficult?

Find a different word.

For example, consider the sample question above.
In this question, all the answer choices are sports-related, but only 'baseball' is a word of a specific game. Could 'sport games' be the correct category? As you can see, all the words in the top row are names of sport games.

Another example

You might find out that only one answer choice is a verb, while the rest of the answer choices are nouns.
In such cases, check whether the category of "verbs" fits the words in the top row.
The point here is that the answer choices can give you a hint regarding the correct rule or category.
