Teacher SAY: I’m going to tell you about a situation that could happen to you.  Then tell me what you would say. Make sure your answer is appropriate for your audience. 

SAY: Your group needs to decide on making a diorama or a collage.  You want to create a diorama.  How would you persuade them?

A student might say,

“I think we should make a ____ because _________. ”

SAY: You do not understand your classroom assignment and need clarification.  What would you ask your teacher?

A student might say,

“May you please repeat the information? ”
