It's important to understand connectors


when we read

when we write.

When we write, we usually use arguments to convey a strong message.




Before the fist argument we usually use one of the following connectors:

• To begin with,

• To start of,

Every time they introduce a new argument/claim they use a connector.

Here are some of the most common ones:

• Last but not least, (always the last one)

When writers (or we) want to talk about something that contradicts our previous point, or something that is no longer relevant,

we use connectors of contradiction.

There are many connectors of contradiction.

• Although,

• Whereas,

• Even though,

• In others,

• Despite,

• In spite of,

• Despite the fact that...
