Rules for pluralizing nouns

• If the noun ends with a vowel except -í and -ú, add -s.

  Example: la palabra - las palabras

• If the noun ends with a consonant, add -es

  Example: la ley - las leyes

• If the noun ends with -z, change it to -c and add -es.

  Example: el lápiz - los lápices

• If the noun ends with -es or -s, it does not change in the plural.
