Light Reflection Engage

​You and your three brothers, James, Nathan, and Tariq, are watching TV at night. Suddenly the lights go out, and you are surrounded in darkness. You can’t see a thing. Your brothers start to argue about what to do.

​James: I think we should find a flashlight. When there is light, the light shines on the surface of objects and reflects back to our eyes. The light enters our eyes, and we can see the objects.

Tariq: You’re wrong, James! We don’t need a flashlight to see. In a minute, the light inside our eyes will help us see.

​Nathan: You are both wrong! All objects make their own light. We just have to wait for the light to start coming out of the objects, like it does out of the TV. Then we will be able to see things in the room.
