​What do plant roots do?
Roots absorb water and minerals and transport them to the stem

​ROOTS

​A stem is one of the 2 main structures of a root. The stem supports leaves, flowers, and fruits, transports water and dissolved substances. Photosynthesis takes place here, stores nutrients, and produces new living tissue.

​Stem is used to transport these products from the leaves to other parts of the plant, including the roots.

STEM

​A flattened structure of a higher plant, typically green and blade-like, that is attached to a stem directly or via a stalk. Leaves are the main organs of photosynthesis and transpiration

​ Leaves require sunlight, water, chlorophyll and carbon dioxide to make food for themselves.
