w/focus on Epithelial & Connective Tissues
2
Talk with your table about something good that's happened to you this week!
At Your Table...
3
examine epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous tissue characteristics and view them microscopically
I will...
compare & contrast the structure & function of all 4 categories of tissues found in the human body
We will...

These are tissues that line and cover our bodies. For the microscope, look at the EDGE of the specimen (the APICAL SURFACE AREA).
Where to Find Them?
Cuboidal tissues will be located within the specimen. Their apical surface area is the lumen inside their cell area
But then there's cuboidal...
When you get your specimen zeroed in, use your phone to take a picture of it so you can draw it later. Don't forget to label!
Take a pic!

Talk with your table/neighbor about something you learned about epithelial tissues
At Your Table...

I will...
compare & contrast the structure & function of epithelial and connective tissues specifically.

Connective tissue do just that-they "connect" other tissues together. Think about what all is connected inside of your body
Where to Find Them?
Blood is a tissue and a connective tissue at that! How does it "connect"?
There's always an oddball...
When you get your specimen zeroed in, use your phone to take a picture of it so you can draw it later. Don't forget to label!

Several of your ligaments, such as the ligaments in your knee (ACL, MCL, etc) are twisted elastic connective tissue
FUN FACT: The fibers of the ACL and PCL ligaments are wound in a spiral pattern to withstand the twisting & pulling of the knee. In contrast, the fibers of the MCL and LCL pass more straight from bone to bone along the sides of the knee joint.
