• Noteheads: The round or oval part of a music note that partially represents its duration.

• Stems: The vertical line attached to the notehead that partially indicates the note's duration and who's direction varies depending on it's position on the staff.

• Beams: Beams are used to connect multiple notes together. They help to group together notes that have flags.
