MONOCHROMATIC

COLORS

Derived from a single based

hue and extended using

shades. Tints by adding white,
black ,or gray to a hue (color)

PRIMARY AND
SECONDARY COLORS
Mix any two colors to get
another color. Using
colors on the opposites
side of the wheel it,
creates contrast.

TERTIARY COLORS
There are six tertiary
colors. Red-Orange, Yellow-Orange, Yellow-Green, Blue-Green, Blue-Violet, Red-Violet, which are formed by mixing a primary with a secondary.

Saturation-
Intensity or purity of color, with
high saturation color it will look
more rich and less
pastel. Without saturation it will
be black and white photo.

Hue-
A color or shade of a color

Temperatures

Warm colors: are those hues that give the feeling of warmth, such as red, orange, and yellow.

​Cool colors are identified as blue, green, and purple and their hybrids. They can calm and soothe. Cool colors remind you of water and sky, even ice and snow
