Students will match words to their corresponding pictures
Allow students discuss times they have come across unknown words.
Read an example, "Susie was upset when she saw she damaged the Blanket.
Students will try to figure out what the word, "damaged," means and discuss the clues they use to help them.
I will then explain why it is important to know how to figure out the meaning of unknown words.

I will read a caption accompanied by a picture of a boy on a scavenger hunt and use clues to figure out unknown words.
Explain how students can use word clues and picture clues to help them figure out the meanings of unknown words.
Students will listen to a sentences with corresponding pictures and fill in the blanks with the correct word.
