Design Process
The design process is what you follow when making a
project.
You have seen the design process in many previous
grades.
The design process is to help keep on task and
improve your plans and designs.
Follow the example in this unit and apply a similar
approach to your project.
24
Ask
The Ask section will always give you a design brief.
You will need to create a project that fits into the design brief.
Read the design brief carefully. Take note of the key points required to meet the
outcome of the design brief correctly.
You will need to create a list of tasks to follow over the duration of the project.
Example: Getting to School
School starts at 8:00am. The school bus collects you at 7:15am every
morning.
You woke up late today and missed the school bus.
You need to get to school before 8:00am or you will be marked late.
It is now 7:25am so you have less than 35 minutes to get to your
classroom.
Your house is 4km away from school.
How can you get to school on time?

Imagine
In this section you will think of different ways to
solve the design brief. You will need to complete
some research online and ask various questions
to help.
Example: Think of a number of questions you need to answer to
accurately answer the design brief.
Research these questions and take notes to help you decide the best
option.
