Before we begin adding, we need to make sure we can count first!

Addition is a way of combining things and counting them together as one large group.

What is addition?

There are a lot of different ways to add but the concept is the same.

Today we are going to focus on the count upwards method

Say for example we want to add 2+5.

We will start at the number 2

then skip 5 places.

The number you end at is your answer!
