The government power is limited to what the Constitution gives it!

Everyone must follow the laws.

Government power is divided and separated into 3 different "branches" or jobs.

This keeps any one part of the government from having too much power!

​5. Checks & Balances

Each branch can check or control actions of the other branches.

This makes sure each branch is using its powers responsibly.

6. Federalism

Government power is shared between the national government & state governments.

7. Individual Rights

Personal liberties, freedoms, & rights protected by the Bill of Rights.
