​Insist

1. to say that something is true, especially when others don't believe.
ex: I insist that you look for yourself if you don't believe me.

2. to demand that something must be done.
ex: I insist that you pay your balance today or your subscription will be canceled.


Persist

1. unpleasant situation or feeling that continues
ex: This annoying rash still persist since last week.

2. continue to do something that is annoying
ex: If you persist with this behavior, I will report you.
