What is Democracy?

​Democracy- a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.


Examples: The US Government has US Representatives and Senators.

The Enlightenment helped by challenging the norms of a monarchy and forming new ideas of how the common people can be involved in laws and government.

How was it taken to the next level?

Ancient Greece started an early from of democracy in Athens. They would meet in a central location and vote on issues.
