• Letters in red are vowels.

• Letters with an * are special characters, they are not official anymore, and STILL important sounds.

• Real Academia Española made them diagraphs (two letters together that make a single sound) instead.

• If the r is the first letter or rr is in a word it makes a strong trill sound.

Examples: carro, puertorriqueño, Roberto, and Rodolfo.
