uses sentence starter (when/where/how) something happened
uses connectives such as because / if

cannot --> can't
do not --> don't
is not --> isn't
it is --> it's

I am--> I'm
she is --> she's
he is--> he's
they are--> they're

a text which retell the events/ experiences in the past

The purpose is to tell the reader about the past events/ experiences.
