George III's solution involved drawing a "line" through the Appalachian mountains that colonists could not settle past, leaving everything west of the proclamation line for the Native Americans.

Of course, this did not work as he had hoped.

Women were a crucial part of this protest!

The Townshend Acts placed broader duties on a variety of goods in the colonies, including things like glass and paper.

Women were instrumental in the boycotting of these goods by spinning cloth, writing commentaries, and even signing petitions.
