Parties d’une phrase

1.Subject (Sujet): The subject is the person or thing performing the action or being
described in the sentence.

2.Verb (Verbe): The verb expresses the action or state of being in the sentence.

3.Object (Objet): The object is the noun or pronoun that receives the action of the verb.

Marieaime les chiens.

(Marie likes dogs.)

Declarative sentences make statements or express facts. They end with a period (.)

J'aime le chocolat.

(I like chocolate.)

Declarative Sentences (Les

phrases déclaratives):

Negative sentences express negation or denial. They include negation words such as
"ne...pas" (not) and "ne...jamais" (never). The negative word "ne" is placed before the verb, and
the negation word follows the verb.

Je ne comprends pas le livre.

(I don't understand the book.)

Interrogative sentences ask questions. They often begin with an interrogative word (such as
"qui" - who, "quoi" - what, "où" - where, "comment" - how) or by inverting the subject and verb.

Definite Articles (Les articles

Definite articles refer to specific nouns and indicate something known or previously
mentioned

Le (masculine singular) - Example: Le livre (the book)

La (feminine singular) - Example: La maison (the house)

L' (singular) - used before nouns starting with a vowel or a silent "h". Example: L'arbre (the tree)

Les (plural) - Example: Les livres (the books)

Indefinite articles refer to nonspecific or unidentified nouns.

Un (masculine singular) - Example: Un livre (a book)

Une (feminine singular) - Example: Une maison (a house)

Des (plural) - Example: Des livres (some books)

Partitive articles express an unspecified quantity or portion of something.

Adjectives

The feminine form of an adjective is very often created by adding an -e to the masculine form.

Grand (m) → grande (f)

However any adjectives are simply irregular and don't follow any rules - these are tricky.
