Weathering
Weathering is the process by which rocks are broken down into sediments slowly over time. The two major types of weathering are: chemical and mechanical.
3
Erosion
Weathering breaks down rocks into sediments, and the process of Erosion moves the sediments to other locations. Some agents of Erosion are: flowing water, glaciers, wind, and gravity.
4
Deposition and Deltas
When sediments erode they get deposited into horizontal layers called strata.
Sediments carried by flowing water pile up around the rivers mouth and form rich deposits of land called deltas
5
