•Has mechanical structure or framework

o Made up of many parts e.g motors, actuators, circuit boards, wheels, etc)

•Has electrical components, such as:

o sensors: to sense surroundings

o camera: to capture images of its surroundings

o microprocessors: to compare input data against pre-set parameter values

o actuators: to perform action

•It is programmable

o Uses controller (brain of robot)

o Controllers are programmable to allow the robots to do certain tasks.
