Figurative language is a way of expressing oneself that does not use a word's strict or realistic meaning. Basically saying that what your saying is over exaggerated.

Connotation is the use of a word to suggest a different association than its literal meaning, which is known as denotation. For example, blue is a color, but it is also a word used to describe a feeling of sadness.

Technical language refers to the specific terminology and jargon employed in a particular field or discipline. It is the language and shared understandings constructed over time within that field. It is typically dense with meaning and very specific.
