Mary Outley- Interim Superintendent

The first open enrolled student in Akron- she wanted
to go to Buchtel.

She loves Math!

She is the second African American woman to lead APS.

Worked in APS 32 years.

She had her own paper route delivering for the Beacon
Journal 5th-10th grade every afternoon.

Ellen McWilliams- Previous Assistant Superintendent

Won the lifechanger of the year award in
2022!

Recently retired after 30+ years in APS

Worked to increase equity and inclusion.

Worked in deaf education and knows sign
language.

Was an elementary and middle school principal

Has expanded the ESL program in APS

Helps provide access to interpreters

Improved education for ELL students
