Opening a Program on the Start Menu

1.

Press the Windows key.

2.

Move the arrow keys and select the program to be
opened.

3.

Press the Enter key to execute the program.

You may also:

1. Press Ctrl + Esc keys simultaneously.
2. Move the arrow keys and select the program to be opened.

3. Press the enter key to execute the program.

A. Opening a Program on the Display Screen

1. Press the Tab key twice. You will notice that

the first icon on the Taskbar is highlighted.

2. If you will select an icon from the Taskbar,

press the right and left arrow keys to choose
the program to be opened.

3. Press the Enter key to execute the program,

B. Program on the Notification Area

1.

Press the Tab key three times. You will notice that the
upward arrow on the Notification Area is highlighted. In
this example, it is the Installed Device Icon or Hidden
Icon found beside the Action Center icon.

If you want to select an icon from the Hidden Icon area,
press the Enter key to show the options box.

3.

To choose an icon to be opened from the options box,
press the arrow keys (right, left, up, and down).

4.

Press the Enter key to execute the program.

C. Program on the Desktop

1. Press the Tab key four times. You will Notice that an

icon on the desktop is highlighted.

2. To select an icon from the desktop, press the arrow

keys.

3. Press the Enter key to execute the program.

A. Closing a Window

1.

Press the Ctrl and F4 keys simultaneously to close the
current document or file.

You may also:
1.

Press the Alt key and the spacebar simultaneously to
view an options menu on top-left portion of the program
window.

2.

To select an option, move your arrow keys down to Close.

3.

Press the Enter key.

B. Minimizing a Window

1. Press the Alt key and the spacebar simultaneously

to view an options menu on top-left portion of the
program window.

2. To place the current window program on the

Taskbar, select the option Minimize.

3. Press the Enter key.

C. Maximizing a Window

1. Press the Alt key and the spacebar simultaneously

to view an options menu on top-left portion of the
program window.

2. To bring the current window program back to its

original size, select the option Maximize.

3. Press the Enter key.

Moving between Open Windows and Application
Programs
1.

Press the Alt + Tab keys simultaneously to see all the
programs that you are working on.

2.

Press the arrow keys to switch between opened
programs.

You may also:
1.

Press the Tab key while the Alt key continues to be held
to switch between programs, When the program you
want to switch to is selected, release the Alt + Tab keys
to switch to that program.
