What is database?

structured collection of related data.

Used to store bodies of data which are too large to be manged on paper .

What is database schema ?

The schema describe the objects that are represented in the database and the relationships that exists between these objects.

All databases store data using a system of files,

records and fields

A field is a single item of data.

A record is a collection of fields,

A file (in database terms) is an organised collection of records.
