Dynamics

In music, we use Italian terms to describe how "Loud" or "Quiet" the music should be.

Here are some examples in the picture on the right.

En música, usamos términos italianos para describir cuán "fuerte" o "silenciosa" debe ser la música.

Aquí hay algunos ejemplos en la imagen de la derecha.

• this symbol tells us that the music should slowly grow stronger

• starts small and grows larger

• comienza pequeño y se hace más grande

• this symbol tells us that the music should slowly grow quieter

• este símbolo nos dice que la música debe calmarse lentamente

• comienza grande y se hace más pequeño

Here are some of the Italian terms you might see for dynamic levels.

Estos son algunos de los términos italianos que puede encontrar para los niveles dinámicos.

Forte means "strong"

f - loud or strong

ff - very loud or strong

fff - very, very loud!

Forte significa "fuerte"

f - fuerte o fuerte

ff - muy alto o fuerte

fff - muy, muy fuerte!

Piano means "gentle"

p -quiet/soft

pp - very quiet

ppp - very, very quiet

Mezzo means halfway or medium.

mp = medium soft.

mf = medium loud.

Mezzo significa medio camino o medio.

mp = medio blando.

mf = medio alto.
