cells have 3 main parts

1. Plasma membrane/cell membrane: protection, barrier

2. semi-fluid substance, like a colloid. It contains organelles

3. Nucleus: controls the cell's activities, contains DNA

Integral proteins: function as transport proteins, enzymes or recptors

Peripheral proteins: they act as motor proteins for shape change during mitosis ex. actin,myosin, spindle fibers
