You can follow it with a definite article and a noun.

J'aime les chats.

J'aime les chiens.

Make sure it is the definite article if you mean you like that thing overall. (all cats, dogs, ice cream, etc...

Remember the infinitive is a verb that is NOT conjugated. This means there is NOT a subject that goes with it.
