How Were they Invented?

According to legend, one day a customer repeatedly sent his French-fried potatoes back to the kitchen to protest that they were too thick and soft. The chef’s solution was to thinly slice the potatoes and fry them in grease till brown. The customer loved the crisps and soon other guests began asking for them as well.

Who Invented them?

Potato chips were invented by a chef named George Speck. He was the son of an African American father and Native American mother. He was born July 15,1824. He died on July 22,1914 at age 90. he changed his name to George Crum because he felt embarrased of his name and wanted to be more like other people.

Where were they invented?

The potato chip was invented in Saratoga Springs, New York. It was invented at Moon lake resturant in 1853. That is why they were at first called the Saratoga chips.

What Happened Afterward

After Filbert.P (the customer) tried them,he said they were wonderful. And soon,the waiter said to Crum, "Make another dish,I want some myself!" Soon,all the customers saw and they all wanted to try the potato chips.
