While the population stratum with the lowest income receives 101 pesos per day, the highest earns an average of 1,853 pesos, 18 times more.

120,000 people, who represent the 1% of the wealthiest population, concentrate around 43% of the national wealth.

If the country was a cake with 10 slices, a single person would eat four slices and the remaining six would be divided among 99 people.​

​Women on average earn 60% less than men. The national average daily income for a woman is 155 pesos, while a man earns 244 pesos each day.

Mexicans who are born poor in the north of the country, one of the most economically dynamic regions, are almost three times more likely to leave their social stratum and ascend to a higher one. While in the north only 23% of those who were born poor remain poor, in the south 67% of them remain poor throughout their lives.​
